Loving A Warrior
I cry softly, waiting for a word to come;
My wait has bordered into desperation.
Eyes lifeless, the colours are all gone,
I do really need some confirmation.
Day after day, I sit and feel
the place where he laid down beside me;
Touching me, a soft caress,
where in me he left his essence.
His voice still rings in my ears,
his laugh still surrounds me,
his touch teases me and goes,
with the wind flowing around me.
Remembering the desperate kiss I gave,
the last time our lips met;
Before the war took him away,
leaving my cheeks, wet.
There he walks, Proud and Strong,
in his shield, his pride, his uniform;
His helmet, a chief's turban grand;
A guardian, he protects his land.
He's protector to his many brothers,
brandishing his gun he protects his mother;
but the world will never understand
that after all it's me who suffers.
The pain, every wound inflicted
on me, it's tenfold repeated.
he gets every cut, every bruise,
will tear my innocent heart in two.
But for his sake, I keep a brave face,
when he limps slightly down the plane;
his eyes forever shinning with love,
In knew I just have to give up.
I run to him, tears streaming down,
I hug him tight, he's all around.
He picks me up, I weigh nothing to him,
kisses me and gives me that god awful grin!
Now night after night, I lay and feel
as he is laying down beside me,
touching me, a soft caress
where in me, grows his essence.
