Perhaps not everyone will appreciate or understand the necessity of experiencing sorrow. But it IS both a necessity and a gift and one which we have requested prior to our birth.
As long as we keep identifying ourselves with the physical body and world as our true reality we will continually know and experience suffering and sorrow, because we seem to have lost sight of why we are here. We need to step back and perceive the bigger picture of who and what we are and why we are here. We are Souls on a journey. And here on Earth each Soul needs a body/personality/ego to fulfil this journey.
You must understand that our Souls insisted, at one time or another, to experience EVERY aspect of life. This is why we incarnate so often into this school of life on planet Earth. To learn, to experience, to master, to evolve.
It is the same when we are experiencing the Dark Side of life. We need that too, to understand and experience the choices we have of Light or Darkness. Without experiencing a painful heartbreak or loss we would not recognize the experience of ectasy and joy. Likewise, without experiencing hardship and poverty we would not recognize or appreciate life´s comforts and pleasures. Yes, the Soul must learn to tackle and master both sides of life.
Now the keys to mastering these opposing events in life - including the pain of sorrow - are AWARENESS and BALANCE which means putting them to good use. And this means learning to understand that inspite of all the suffering, in reality, all is well. Even though and quite naturally, that ones personality (ego) will be crying out during the suffering period, know that ones Soul will be most grateful for yet another lesson learnt. There are no accidents or coincidences in life... everything happens for a reason.
I do acknowledge that my words may sound quite harsh and hard, but these are the facts of life and not one of us escapes these learning processes. All aspects of life must be achieved and mastered for every one of us to progress into higher states and levels of Be-ing. And experiencing the challenge of SORROW is definitely one of them.
