What Have We Done?
Have you ever thought of it this way-
That man belongs to earth
But earth doesn't belong to man?
We're just creatures.
And our greatest feature?
We think like no other being does.
Is that our boon? Or is it a curse?
Look, we've made our land worse than a hearse.
We've come a long way now.
"We'll use technology to make earth a better place",
Such goes the vow.
Nature- rivers, mountains, soil & trees
The colours in the sky and seas,
Have given us unlimited opportunities
To grow in life, to live in peace.
But whatever came along with it,
How about responsibility?
Have we not ruthlessly destroyed
Homes and partners of other tiny entities?
We think we're big
And make other little creatures
So, so sick.
We probably have some kinda complexity
Depriving others to fulfill our own necessity.
I had a dream last week
It's almost like Nature's lament and motive.
She's a fine lady, I see from a distance,
I walk up to her
Oh, such vibes of mighty creation!
I say hello, she turns around
She looks into my eyes
And I fall to the ground.
Her irises show me a shocking reflection.
I am Man, and I've caused annihilation.
Fires. Cracks. Destruction.
Uncontrolled, no compensation.
Nature gives to us all it has
But we've only used her
And made her crash.
Disintegrated her arms of love
Our assertion on every thing
Has made us too blind to see
What lies beneath, what lies above.
But even if you distress a mother
Her affection won't stop growing further.
She'll nurture you, help you soar
Till she's a raging havoc
Till she can't take anymore.
Limit exists in everything.
Beware of Earth's misery, it's about time it's peaking.
If the elements take revenge,
Can we really handle the profuse rage?
Won't it be too savage
For us to face?
Mother Nature, give us sense!
Blast our eyes with knowledge immense!
For power and woe have gone too far.
Yet love and care remains
In these little creatures built of innocence.
Please don't hurt anyone anymore.
Please value all life forms.
Let's get past the wreckage of the cyclone.
Both the planet and on it the souls that lie
Need the calm that's at the eye.
