Yesterday, I gave a picture in fb, taken some few years back. In the photo, I am with my mom and am looking older than her.
An acquaintance today asked me, "how could you give that picture? You look so fat and older."
I said with a laugh, "Because now I don't care anymore about how I look or looked".
She became confused and stammered, "But..But.. you are not looking your best there." I just shook my head and changed the subject.
Obesity in one way or other is linked to low self confidence.
Maybe because, it's the way we are taught to see ourselves. Maybe because society makes us to think like that.
A year back, I would have balked before giving the picture. However, a lot happened in a year. I joined a good yoga class and lost 35 pounds. But I gained something in return, my self confidence.
I really don't care these days what I am looking like.. I don't spend hours before the mirror criticising myself..I don't spend my time away in social gatherings clicking away selfies or post them rarely in facebook.
I know what I am worth. And this is the reason why everybody should do exercise daily. Not only the overweight persons, exercise should be must for slim ones too. You will feel good enough to love yourself again.
Remember, a fit body is the gateway to a fit mind.
