A Garden of Gratitude
You take me for granted. You take my love and deep rich fertile emotions towards you for granted. You take my expressions of love towards you for granted. When all is said and done, who is the one always there for you to turn to? Despite the distance, despite the longing, the pain, the losses. I can’t go down this road again, I refuse to. Not for you, not for anyone. You take my grandiose love for you so cheaply. As if it’s available on every corner like a double double, guaranteed fresh or we’ll brew you up a new one. I’m sorry when you found me I was broken. I’m grateful you’ve helped me to heal. But the picture looks so bleak from over here where I’m standing and I have a garden underneath me that needs tending to. Will you pass me the seeds so this hoe can get to planting?
