can you see a man,
for the man within,
or do your eyes go no further,
past the color of his skin?
can you admire a woman,
who does what you can't?
or does your masculinity choke,
when her sum outweighs your parts?
can you sit with those below you,
like you sit with those of rank?
or are your choices born in fear,
of hierarchy's noble hand?
our birthplaces and bodies,
are not ours to decide,
we were simply born in them,
we see them as reasons to fight.
it's never too late,
to change the way you think.
can you live without judgement,
or will you watch your humanity sink?
