A Point To Prove
'A Point To Prove'

Its hard to resist trying to prove a point..
When the audience isn't aware of intricate details, you only losing points.
So as opposed to being petty, as I'm provoked to be..
I'm going to present this minor case so the people can understand, hopefully.
I respect my elders & give credit when its due.
But I will not fill anybody up with helium, I rather be honest through & through.
As I sit back & observe, I wonder how a praiser can highlight a character trait in another person..
That the praiser doesn't greatly exemplify, it can make the situation worsen.
Some people say "I'm brutally honest"..
Only to disguise their true tone, which indicates that the brutality-aspect of honesty is more modest.
Growth & maturation shouldn't be cloaked or saturated as an identity crisis.
Savagely braging about your favorite sports team, pride is heavily highlighted.
I'm just saying, I'm not upset or anything, life should be enjoyed.
We all got issues & certain contradictions, however irony can leave a person feeling deployed.
So I can't call a person humble, who's vibe is self-absorbed.
People can & have clowned me all throughout my life, & its okay as long as I know that my poetry employs many literary tools & is well-performed.
I'm not the humblest person here, & I shouldn't be considered as that only because of sacrifice.
Humility is a quiet & blameless demeanor, but not when I grab the mic.
