If I wrote a poem about you,
Would you fall in love with me?
If I don't think like the humans do,
Would you run away from me?
If I left this place to roam the wild,
Would you tame the wolf in me?
If I told you why I am called the devil's child,
Would you make a saint of me?
If I choose to drown in the blurry deep,
Would you try to even save me?
If I was an angel and a beast,
Would you kill the god in me?
If I became a distant memory,
Would you forget all about me?
If I committed the sins I confessed in poetry,
Would you call the cops on me?
If I hid my nature in shades of grey,
Would you paint them black for me?
If I died tonight in the cold river,
Would you breathe some life into me?
If I can't love you the way real men should,
Would you be disappointed in me?
If I did say that I love you too
Would you love me for me?
Or fall in love with the idea of loving me?
