In the struggle for survival in another land, there is one important thing that we need to consider, and that is Coalescence, mixing of two different cultures, where you blend in and integrate but still keep the old but good values and manners within you. It could be a good thing for a person to retain from both countries, all the good values and utilize all these in pursuance of having a better life with great consideration to the people around you.
It's good to still keep some good old Filipino values, and share it to all. Make any individual happy by our optimistic qualities, showing respect, being polite and giving our genuine smiles at school or at work, on the street, everywhere!
It's just sad that we become worst than being better ones. We try to get rid of these values and absorb the things around that we think is trending or cool, but really are the negative things to say or do. Example: Pagmumura, Walang respeto sa matatanda or nakatatanda, Pagiging inconsiderate sa feelings iba na pagtatawanan mo nalang dahil may kapansanan or may kakulangan, Pagiging walang modo or bastos sa iba, Labis na pagbibisyo or drugs, Pagsawalang bahala sa mga pamilya lalo na sa Pinas, Cyber Bullying and others of the same sort, Pagiging makasarili at marami pang ibang masamang impluwensya.
How can we pass on our most admired Filipino values to our children's grandchildren if we start to forget about it now?
Please let us not loose our values wherever we may go, whatever we may become.
