I watched the sun fall, and I was consumed by dark.
An ember in my hand I fell apart.
The dancing flame settled & I crumbled down there in my car.
I drove to the lake, I saw myself hit the water. The windows open and the surface depleting. With eyes open and lungs filling.
I said goodbye.
But I drove away. Empty threats and hopeful wishing.
I saw the stars light up my sky, night after night.
They burned away, and in the ashes I laid.
I saw the sun rise and I grabbed on.
Hanging again, with another flame in my grasp.
