    forever

    you said forever
    again.
    like a piece of coin
    from your lint ridden
    pocket’s loose change.
how many of those do you think
    we get in a lifetime?
it drips out your mouth like rain,
    light and metallic and common.
your words weigh less than helium,
something will pop this bubble soon
and there won’t be any years
left for you to regenerate yourself,
    or the world’s glasses,
    to do it again.
