Prelude: In the twilight of our love We had a breaking dawn A transcendental epiphany That love is never gone And from that moment forward We burned brighter than the sun And in the blaze of passion's glory Two melded into one. Copyright Carolyn Glackin 10/17/19
SAHARAN by Carolyn Glackin In the twilight of our love We found an oasis A holy respite In which to share our hearts Bare our souls And rest our heads In our quietude We found a lasting solace Both in our selves And in one another There we remained In love's embrace Divesting ourselves of masks Ridding ourselves of accoutrements Revealing ourselves to the truth Opening ourselves to divine glory Until we could rest no more For we remembered That love, at its finest Can never truly be tamed Cannot be shaped or controlled Will not be limited or restricted And must, at all times and at all costs, be fully free So we released it We uncaged it We unbridled it We let it run wild, come what may We watched as it changed and grew Bloomed and evolved Advanced and developed Soon, our love had a life of its own Seemingly, it was a separate entity And yet it was a part of the whole The permanently conjoined oneness Of we two It was of us, and we were of it Unendingly And oh how we reveled in it! In a glorious haze of passion and frenzy Our souls were ignited by the eternal flame of divine love Thus we were consumed and reborn by the flame And where once stood two A singular oneness remained Conjoined by the rapture of two hearts Freed by the sanctity of divine love. And so it is. Copyright Carolyn Glackin 10/17/2019.
About the title: I titled this piece 'Saharan,' which is an adjective that refers to the Saharan desert and denotes a hot, fiery passionate quality in regard to the noun it precedes.
My submission for the #stranger_wt challenge, hosted by #writerstolli, in which we are to relay a moment when a complete stranger came to the rescue. In my case, there were two, and I'm eternally grateful for them. Thank you for reading. Blessings, Carolyn
To clarify, the two heroic gentlemen saved me, literally in the nick of time, before the unthinkable had a chance to happen. Thus, forever they will be thought of as my angels.
TWO ANGELS by Carolyn Glackin Two angels came In a moment fleeting Time, we hadn't For proper greeting
There was I In disarray Little, there was To speak or say
An evil act A horrid misdeed As a demon attempted To spill his seed
While I lay screaming On earthen ground My words, unheard Not a soul around
Soon, I understood my fate It would come to pass He would violate
In shock and horror I kicked and yelled But in his grasp I was firmly held
My jeans ripped open My hair askew Little was there That I could do
My eyes shut tight My hopes now fading My loathsome plight Oh so degrading!
Then, all of the sudden With not a moment to spare Two voices rang out Very loud, very clear!
Two strangers, now heroes Whom I'd never seen Rushed in to save me As if in a dream
Not before, nor since Did I see them again But I'm sure they were angels For they saved me from him. Copyright Carolyn Glackin 10/16/2019.

P.S. I've finally reopened my challenge account (which is @carolyns_challenges for those that aren't familiar with it). I'll try to get a challenge going within the next few days.
Racism means to discriminate someone or something on their physical appearance or social status. It is not only limited to humans. Even we do it with things. For an example. Have a look at carrom board.why is white coin considered superior to the black one? Why the person who plays the first shot prefers white over black? Why don't it be like snooker where the first gain decides solids/stripes you need to play with? Why can't we do this in carrom? Why when playing with siblings white is considered one rupee coin and black as half a rupee? Why don't both be considered equal? No, we don't consider them equal because the society in which we live taught us to differentiate between black and white. Racism is running in our veins and we are not even aware about it.
MY MOTIVE WAS NOT TO DEFAME THE GAME OR HURT THE SENTIMENTS OF ANYONE HERE. I JUST WROTE WHAT I FELT. IF YOU PEOPLE REALLY AGREE WITH MY VIEWS KINDLY REPOST THIS SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN ALSO HAVE A LOOK
Growing up can be scary sometimes Being so used of being a kid And having your parents do things for you But now that you’re grown There’s a lot of you don’t learn from school or your parents You just have to learn from yourself It’s part of being responsible We don’t need to depend on others to do things for us We have to learn how to be independent Like going to college, going to work and etc... It’s okay being afraid of changes It’s part of growing up We have to do the things that makes us uncomfortable And the more we keep going The more comfortable we seem to get Being a young adult is hard But we’re not alone God is with us Depending on others won’t help you grow But depending on yourself teach you to be independent
Sometimes a little how are you from her can cure half of the ailments of your heart... Sometimes a tight hug from your friend feels more comforting than a peaceful sleep... Sometimes a minute of sleep on mother's lap can tackle the whole day of stress.... Sometimes a little banter with your sibling relaxes you from every worry... Sometimes a little pat on your back by your father gives you a lot satisfaction and zest.... Sometimes a little "yes you can do" which you tell to yourself can inspire you to do tasks which almost look impossible....
