The Prophet commanded us not to envy and hate others. Rather, we should love for others what we love for ourselves. Envy was the first sin by which Allah the Exalted was disobeyed in the heavens, as Iblīs envied Adam. It was the first sin by which Allah was disobeyed on earth, as the son of Adam killed his brother.
