    She realized early on that many people were capable of being incredibly selfish, deceitful, and untrustworthy.

    The potential damage, destruction and disappointment they could cause were simply too great a risk for her to bear.

    She thus had to limit access to her inner sanctum. She loved hard but trusted slowly.

    The smell of hot pancakes filled her kitchen
    Sizzling crisp bacon made her mouth water
    Steamed milk and coffee seduced her senses
    Fresh orange juice competed for her attention
    She slowly licked the maple syrup off her lips
    The orgy of tastes and textures had begun

    You must believe that things will get better. Don't ever lose hope; always maintain your faith. For faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.

    "Why are you here?" asked the aged guru, sitting cross-legged atop the Himalayan mountain peak.

    "Oh great master," replied the exhausted pilgrim, "I have come seeking wisdom."

    to capture how he felt inside.
    Mere words alone could not describe;
    his feelings that would not subside.

    his stars; his universe; his world.
    The joy and peace that she imbued;
    made all his hopes become renewed.
    He realized then she was the one;
    his destiny beneath the sun.

    Heartbreak has a way of crystallizing our thinking: it helps us to truly understand what really matters in life. And as it turns out, most things in life, don't really matter, at all.

    She wondered how long she had left
    When they first said her end was soon nigh
    No wonder her heart was bereft
    For who wants to know when they'll die?
    But she has since beaten their bets
    And refused to give in to their claims
    She'll continue for decades more yet
    To put their prognosis to shame

    He yearned for a real connection. A woman he could do everything with. Laughing. Loving. Living. Learning. Cuddling. Kissing. Growing.

    She lured him in then threw him back.
    It was a sport to her: catch and release.
