Pretty From Afar
Things just seem so pretty from afar
Neverland is more real than we believe
Our emotions drift across the endless sea
Almost like a lone wolf running through the breeze
Swipes and Likes
Pictures of sport cars
Posts that grip your imagination through its flaws
It all comes at a price
Maybe we're just vain as a society
Maybe reality just took a gun to her head
I can hear her cries, pains, and heartache...
Can you?
Maybe it doesn't have to be this way
Things do look pretty from afar, but you can only notice true beauty when you remove the veil of fantasy

My eyes not sore
From streams of tears
My pillows not damp
From nights of crying
I wish I could
Ebb away memories of
Walking around at dawn
Twilights loaded
With books and chai
Nights skies that
Faded and bloomed into
Hues of blues pinks
And oranges as we watched
And the tune that never left your lips.

Destined
When I was young, I always think about my destiny. Was he a handsome prince just like what I had seen in movies? Was he a mighty warrior just like what I had read in storybooks? Or was he just an ordinary man like what I had noticed in the neighborhood?
And then I found you, sitting quietly on a swing located in the kindergarten playground. You played the snow with your shoes. You were crying but you didn't bother to wipe the tears. You just bowed your head and glued your eyes on the ground. My little heart back then was beating erratically. I knew it, right there and then, you were my destiny.
But as years passed by, I figured out the reason why you cried. You are rejected by the girl that is now within your side. I thought you were my destiny but I guess I am just destined to watch you in the distance and I am just destined to love you from afar.
