I lied awake last night,
Contemplating the nature of black and white,
Nothing is that simple though,
Who's to say what's right when there's so much gray in between.
As I lie there feeling my anger rise it begins to turn inward,
Why do I let this burn so bad,
Giving it complete control over me,
Anger turns to rage and all intelligence dissipates.
I cannot wait until I leave the bounds of time,
This earth and the egotism that infest our minds,
I am no better than anyone,
A demon or a saint.
When you can be anything,
How do you define yourself,
Every second I can change my fate,
I wish to be more than wasted potential.
