The simple hut sheltered him that night
From the thunder bolts and pouring rain
He slept so quiet
In the comfort of the wooden bed.
The wounded soul in him found
peace in someone else's abode!
Days went by, and he stayed
People came searching for him
So came an unwanted guest
Thoughts of them were mirrored on to him
He tried changing that place in his way
Everytime not getting it right
Reminding him that it was not his to change
His annoyance wrecked the home
which shielded him in time of need
Days again went, he had left
The place broken and hurt.
With sparkling eyes there came 'the man'
His heart wept seeing the ruins
of his labour of love
In agony he put on flames
The home that hoped
those hands will mend
The blazing flames rose so high
Burning the hut and the hope
Leaving behind a memory
Of selflessness and compassion.
