The Heart Keeper and the Soul Reaper
In a land that
Fairy tales forgot to sing,
Lived the Heart keeper
And the Soul reaper.
Separated by bellicostic boundaries,
Luciform realms of the Heart keeper
And brumous dark lands of the Soul reaper
Remained, near and far
Like the sky and stars.
For lifetimes they've loved,
Or so, they believed
When they first set eyes upon eyes;
The never ending story,
The promise to live through
A passel of forevers,
Revoked with ardor
Enamoring two hearts
In dreams that they belong.
And infinite impossibilities.
At that point where the worlds meet,
Was born a world anew,
While annihilation followed suit.
In that chaos met,
The Heart keeper and Soul reaper,
The Soul reaper begged of the other
To leave, for the selcouth darkness
Would cast its shadow in the soul.
The Heart keeper refused,
If I loved the Child of the Dark,
So shall I learn to love the dark too,
The Heart keeper said.
And then offered to give up the world outside,
For the Soul reaper has never known light.
The blinding light of the light lands,
Burned the benighted wings of the Soul reaper.
This numinous chaos, our home henceforth
The Heart keeper embraced,
In it the Soul reaper felt home.
Those forevers need sacrifice
The Lord of life demanded,
Renounce that you have had only for yourself,
And would part with only for each other,
Then shall your forevers last forever.
The Heart keeper plunged a dagger with a smile,
Extracted his beating heart,
The keeper of hearts of the realms of light
Gave up his heart for love.
The Soul reaper,
With no second thoughts
Bottled up her soul,
The soul reaper that drank on souls of high and low,
Gave up her soul for love.
Their forevers would now,
Last forever indeed.
The Soul reaper thrust her heart
Into the Heart keeper's hands;
Keep mine in the place of yours
The Heart keeper
Made a potion of his soul
And made her drink it;
Mine shall be yours,
The Angel of light
And the Demon of darkness,
Now live in the sky
With one heart,
And one soul
A love story
Like no other.
