It Ends In Death
Life is fleeting and not to be wasted
Think, my friends, how much variety you've tasted
There's two approaches to this command not to waste time-
Though I've not decided which is mine.
You can rush, fit it all in- see as many sights as the invisible wind
Or just stop, just think, appreciate the ocean- be alert, feel every emotion.
No matter your philosophy, you can't escape your last day
It ends in death, and that's okay.
People avoid talk of dying,
Avoid it like the plague or sobs of crying
I think it's natural,
Ever-so-sad but not untimely
Take a a stand though alone, speak defiantly
Live, they tell you, live!
'Don't waste your childhood, take whatever they give
Hey, don't think about death or blood or the color black
Think about life, smile, motivation's what you lack'
No, sir, I'm happy- I want to stay
But it ends in death, and that's okay.
Immortality is praised,
We think of it as power,
Though it defies every rule beneath we're thought to cower.
I think immortality would be unlikable,
If nothing ever died, the earth would be uncyclable
Life hinges on death
Any scientist can tell you
It's not morbid or crazy, it's undeniably true
So enjoy the ride, enjoy your stay,
Cause life ends in death and it'll be okay.
