Damaged bridge
I walk over this bridge
Below lies my mistakes my demons point out
Water of mud, debris and poison
Toiling with my ever lasting emotion
The damaged, hurt oak bridge
Of nails loose and five panels gone
And on the verge of collapsing
This bridge and pond are surrounded
By daisies and roses and deer and fawns
I listen to them as I try to avoid my past
Of being down at the river when I was young
And created a flood of turmoil
I escaped to the top, avoiding the mess
But it’s still there and always will
Now everyday I attempt to cross this damaged bridge
To get to my wonder that I dream
But I stop midway, I go back, feeling trapped
A reminder of my dark regrets

In the midst of the mad,
Mad storm, I will make
A bubble out of the rain,
Dark as it may be, but the
Sky is still beautiful,
Come lie down beside me,
In my bubble, I can make room
For you too.
Maybe we can coax the stars
To shine, or maybe we will paint
Some of our own, art waits for no
Canvas, after all; come taste this
Potion I made, it's got love sweeter
Than honey and all good things that
Thrive with the kiss of sunshine.
No point making promises, 'cause fate
Has a tryst with chaos, but if you ask me,
There's no better promise of hope,
Save for the story that runs like a
Broken tape in your mind.
So, in the middle of the storm,
I will ignite my heart, to bloom like
A sun, come, join me, you can awaken
