Solemn- Oliver Lyngdoh
We gathered round the solemn fire,
Our breaths staggered, our feelings low,
The room filled with emotion-sadness and pain...
Now just pictures to remember you by,
Fond Memories to replay in our heads-
A headstone on the ground,
Wreaths of petals and candles.
There's so much more I had wanted to talk about,
So much more for you to see us grow into,
So many more milestones I thought you would see us cross,
Gone too soon, so sudden.
For when roads we have taken,
Lead us to places we don't understand,
What I would give for another morning with you
And an endless conversation too.
We weren't prepared,
But I know you're in a better place.
