stood forth the mirror naked,
scrutinized your bulges and curves,
and caressed those scars,
and your lips stretched out
into a beautiful curve,
and your soul screamed
"You are pretty!" ?
How long it's been
since the last time
you gave up on
procrastination?
When was it that you
stopped lazing around, and
finally got up and climbed that hill
whose view you adored from
your bedroom's window?
How long it's been
since the last time
you made wild love to your lover?
When was the last time
you kissed him hard,
pierced your nails deep into his chest
almost feeling his heart beat,
and out of ecstatic passion
moaned loudly while you made out?
How long it's been
since the last time
you read that book?
When was the last time
you ditched your friends
and stayed inside
because you were so curious to know
about the guy that had
captivated the girl,
and at the same time was her father's killer?
How long it's been

you felt like yourself?
When was the last time
that your reflection didn't
disappoint you?
and despite of all the flaws
that you posses,
you decided to adopt them

Today
Today is a strange day.
With the sunrise comes the promise of a new day.
It seems karma and reality have both chosen to give me a break.
Today I am happy, healthy, actually glad to be in my shoes; to be alive.
I can function. I can smile. I can rejoice.
There's so much wrong with me, but so little of it shows on this day.
I am light.
For a while, I am free. I wallow in my worth.
But for how long?
