The moment a girl comes into this world,
Destiny of the parents gets cursed.
No happiness, no celebrations,
Sadness is all that gets served.
However, they accept her into their family,
'You're a girl', she gets reminded usually.
She's kept in fetter of restrictions,
No importance is given to her ambitions.
No short clothes, no laughing on the roads,
No going out after 7 p.m. in the clock.
No one would accept an ugly bride,
So, they suggest her several pastes and creams to look white.
To look good is a real struggle whole her life,
Because primarily duty is to be a beautiful wife.
Her marriage gets fixed once she attains 18 years of age,
Her dreams get killed inside that pretty cage.
Her primarily duty becomes to serve her family, to fulfill their needs all her life,
And to be a dutiful and a good wife.
A wife who would be a mother, a care taker someday,
Career takes back seat and kept for some other day.
Her life goes on by fulfilling everyone's need,
No one thinks of her, of her happiness and of her dreams.
But not anymore!
Because it's time to fight back for her dreams,
To fight for her ambitions,
And to gain society's esteem.
Now every girl is realising that she is more powerful than a man,
She's working harder to reach a meaningful lane.
