I disliked the subject, feared the teacher.
Signs & symbols added up to the mess,
the only subject where I scored least of the less
and the only teacher I could never impress.
The first time when I fell for my enemy,
was when I held my first earned penny,
life taught maths in terms of money.
With the struggles of my studenthood I have realised,
students to be positively re-inforced rather pressurised,
teaching & parenting styles to be timely improvised.
For the phobia of maths from the hearts to be shed,
with modified explanation our textbooks to be fed,
and innovative training for the teachers to be led.

A gun shaped π
If I dream of numbers everyday, I feel like I am alive,
If I don't see primes everyday, I feel like I am gonna die,
I study whole day, I think all night,
Just to know a little more about the number named Pi.
I beg for a field with characteristic Nine,
I want to raise iota to the power Pi,
There might be lies that you think are truth,
But if we look at pseudo primes even they are alive.
How little we know, how much to explore,
We talk about infinity, but we can't leave open door.
We all are trapped in a mathematical chess,
I hate to stop playing, but it's time for recess.
Often they ask about need of maths,
Neither can avoid death nor God's wrath,
Death is eternal, Riemann cried,
Abel died but Abelianity survived.
God is afraid from this era of maths,
Soldiers like iota are leading the paths,
It's the kingdom of the integers, empire of surds,
Your vector valued future is now in safe hands.
Hunting in infinite forests, with a gun shaped Pi,
Making friends like zeta, living the best of life,
I hope my life will be closed modulo prime,
Seconds after death, I will find a mapping back to life.

A number that I always fantasized,
It lies somewhere between 3 and 4,
But when I tried to calculate,
I had never seen such decimal before
But then I understood why,
As I was hit by a sad reality,
That this number is stricken by,
The vicious cycle of irrationality
Then out of sight, I saw a 1/pi,
Together they played a simple trick,
And to unglue them from this dilemma,
I used nothing but simple arithmetic
When apart, they've been lonely,
And I have figured out why,
To break free from this mortal bond,
Together, they did multiply!

Well, it’s true. The more we understand the universe, the more we discover its mathematical connections. Flowers have spirals that line up with a special sequence of numbers (called Fibonacci numbers) that you can understand and generate yourself.
Seashells form in perfect mathematical curves (logarithmic spirals) that come from a chemical balance. Star clusters tug on one another in a mathematical dance that we can observe and understand from millions and even billions of kilometers away.

“Sir please sir, my parents can’t pick me up today. My bus will leave in 15 minutes. I have no way to go home” she begged. “You have not performed well in your internals. You have to stay back for special classes” her maths teacher told blocking her way out of the room. It was already late. She doesn’t want to attend the special classes. She might have scored less in internals. But that’s because they kept changing the teacher for maths. It confused her. She was standing near the door waiting for some kind of miracle. Someone save me, she thought pouting and wringing her hands in her uniform.
“Psst!”a voice whispered behind the teacher, who was talking to one of the parents inside the class. Her best friend was standing on the other side, near the staircase. “Give me your bag” her best friend whispered. “Why?” she asked, sliding her bag to her friend, when their teacher turned his back to them. “Run when I tell you, don’t look back, we’ll meet at the gate” her friend explained without any pretext. “What?” she asked, panicking. This idiot’s gonna kill me she thought looking at her friend, who had both their bags on her shoulder.
Their teacher went inside for something and “RUN GIRL RUN!!! DON’T LOOK BACK!!” her best friend screamed running down the stairs next to her. “HEY, don’t you dare bunk the -” their teacher came to stop her. I’m dead I’m dead I’m dead, I’m gonna die and come and haunt that stupid friend i chose, she thought as she ran to the stairs that was on the other side of the corridor. Her teacher was calling but she didn’t look back. She ran till legs spasmed and breath came short. He saw her standing near the gate, waiting near the gate, holding up the bus. Maybe I won't kill her today, she thought, as they boarded the bus and catched their breath sitting at their usual spot.
“Idiot” she told her friend. “hey,I came and saved you like a guardian angel from that guy’s mind numbing class and this is how you thank me. I should have left you there. Whatever small amount of brain you have would have become noodles at the end of the class.”, her friend ranted, throwing a water bottle to her. “ ahhh My hero” she mocked her friend, leaning heavily on her. “Alright Alright, move.” her best friend said.
“hey, what’s the first class tomorrow?” she asked her friend.
“...umm… “
“What…?”
“...Maths…”
“...He’s gonna kill us”
Let’s take care of that tomorrow...

Pages after pages ,
Chapters after chapters ends ,
Yet mathematics fails to calculate life .
Still Algebra is searching solution for "x".
But everyday uncountable tears are dripping down cheeks,
In concluding proper solution for a problem called "Ex" .
Two parallel lines keep on walking to the infinity without meeting each other.
Hoping that if the world is round , we will obviously meet again ,someday, somewhere at some corner .

Oh the horror of math class,
When others could easily surpass,
Struggling with area, weight and mass,
Sure I was, teacher's target to harass!,
Multiplication tables and division,
Addition and the subtraction,
Oh the frightening fractions!
Deadly decimals! Dont even mention!
Arithmetic, geometry and algebra,
Each came with an agenda,
Alpha, beta, Sin, cos, tan, theta,
Exams sure had me in amnesia!
Logarithms and algorithms,
Calculus and theorems,
Differentiation and integration
Problems all so burdensome.
Values, variables, indices in array,
Complex terms, much to dismay,
While the rest loved formulae,
All I wanted was to run away!
Schools agreed I was a huge misfit,
To practice sums when I would sit,
Wondering for whom it will benefit,
So many times I just wanted to quit,
Maths, I could never follow,
There are some truths though,
Sharing happiness multiplied it,
Sharing sorrows divided it!
Friends get easily added,
Enemies surely subtracted.
Just requires ego to be let go,
That's all the math I know!
