In Mumbai rains we met,
Together at a 'Tapri' we sat.
Enjoying the rain with Elaichi flavoured tea,
Lost in each other's eyes like there was only you & me.
And that was the beginning of our story.
But maybe some stories are meant to be just stories.
It's raining heavily today just like on the day we met,
And I'm at the 'Tapri' sitting on the bench we first sat.
The elaichi flavoured tea has lost its taste,
After you, my heart has never raced.
I'm still stuck in memories old,
But my heart & tea have turned cold.

कहानी एक हसीं आज तुम्हें बतलाता हूं,
यादों की महफ़िल से
पर्दा मैं उठाता हूं।
न शोर था, न शांति और न ही तन्हाई,
सुकून भरा अहसास कराए,
मैंने ऐसी एक हसीं शाम बिताई।।
वह मौसम अलग था,
जुदा-सा वह समां था,
खुशकिस्मती है मेरी,
मैं उस रोज़ वहां था।
न मैंने पलकें झपकी,
न उसने ली अंगड़ाई,
हमने यक़ीनन साथ
एक यादगार शाम बिताई।।
बचपन के क़िस्से थे,
बातें हमारी रूहानी थीं,
सपना-सा था वो,
या कोई अनसुनी कहानी थी।
कोई अवसर नहीं था,
न मिलन, न जुदाई,
फिर भी सहेज कर रखी जाए,
मैंने कुछ यूं एक हसीं शाम बिताई।।

i received a letter,
a letter from "air".
yes you heard it right
the "air" we breathe.
the letter read,
"it is time and you're due.
'due' a fancy word for overdue.
i've heard and known from
the other beings not of your kind
and the unspoken trees.
return on investments to you
is a language you understand
with ease.
i asked for nothing more than
your petty installments
of gratitude that you've only forgotten.
i see my investments in you
gone in vain, in fact rotten.
your actions have given way
to words that mean only pollution.
your fellow beings have paid the price
for your scathed evolution.
this letter holds a bill.
a bill for all the accounts
of your technological drill.
your advancements have caused
many wounds to those of your kind
and not,
beyond repair sums up pretty much,
you're a mirror of distraught.
pay, breathe back, release
all the part you're of me.
i'm forced to take it back
and now i can't let you be.
