we try to swop them
for an act of kindness
that our pockets
may become as light as a feather
we give the hungry man a plate of food, the barefoot child a pair of shoes,
the dog a bone,
we remove the rock from the middle of the road,
we pray
we can't rid ourselves from the pebbles that keeps on wearing us down

To prevent my abandoning
Help me find my way
It looks like you are leaving
Without a way back to me
Not that u ever knew
That in my mind u were mine
And I was running to you
And I was laying down
Small little stones
A foundation
For us
To build a happy home
No breadcrumb trials
Vultures circling round
Keep your eyes on my path
And don't stray far
From my stones on the ground
Or the only pebbles
That crunch beneath your feet
Will be leaving the final stone
With my name engraved on it
And the date I dropped the last pebble

In the sea of white pebbles, shone the black one
Looked onto by admiration and jealousy it had won
Rain came and so did sun
to wet and heat the pebbles and run
The ostentatious black was now fading
Soon the pebble would be white and silence would be suffocating.

I'm a cliff
A cut from mountains
Near the smaller runnels
Where great rivers are born.
I'm a rock
A slice of marble rocks
Sharp edges and rough skin
An unformed shapeless thing.
I'm a stone
Moving through the stream
Hitting, cracking with the flow
On a painful adventurous venture.
I'm a pebble
Resting in the bowl
A treasure Jack found

My memories are scattered in a shallow puddle
and the raindrops are whispering them in a cosy cuddle.
My life is bound in the trembling pebbles.
I feel lost in gossiping with them in a silly huddle.
Wind is blowing, ruffling my hairs,
enchanting with my heart beats like an ayre.
Which goes deep into my heart, it's rare.
In the silent roads, there's a blare.
