When winter arrives
The sun seems like the gawsy moon,
When winter arrives the yellow mornings become maroon,
Earth becomes canvas with 'Guo Hua' paintings,
Crows do cry but dare not flap the wings.
Animals cuddle together, thwarting the warmth from escaping,
Some retire to hibernaculum, not wanting to face the cold sting.
The tempest howl, babies stay in,
no matter how much it seems enchanting..
The pets lie by the fire place,
feeling sad for their friends outside with a gloomy face.
Each baby squirrel has its godfather, the old tree,
Protecting them from the Jack Frost's weary.
Grasses hide their color and breeze turn into cold winds,
unlike, the waters still warm inside, on the icey cover moonlight shines..
When winter arrives in our lives and when bright smiles seem cold,
keep yourself warm, wait, hang on, learn from the nature olde.
