In this wild jungle
Struggling for another humble start
You came in like a Soulful Sparrow,
Who flew by this Narrow Heart...
Love has spread like a Wildfire
It's setting the firefighters ablaze,
Waiting for the pure rain...
While reciting Your Name as a phrase.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Let us both build a warm nest
Let the world grow a new forest on its own...
Let us chirp melodies...
That makes better memories than singing a sorry song.
Can't reach the Sky...
But we'll be high above the ground.
Don't wait for 'The One'...
Because this 'Stubborn' won't always be around.

#readwriteunitePainting words on Moineau
Squabbling joyous sounds
And in one wink pain is gone
Blissful memories sleeping atop the wings
Gazing at the tiny bird sitting on my window
Battling with letters
Molding furnace of thoughts
In the abyss of My Memory
Igniting my imagination
And like the Phoenix
Rise my poetic bliss

Pharaoh the Sparrow
Gliding between skyscrapers went little Pharaoh.(King in Egyptian)
A very cheerful and energy filled sparrow.
Chirping its way to a new breezy morning
Performing fancy aerial feats on the go with her peers synchronising.
The happiness was shortlived as the struggles began again
They were unofficially banished from the concrete jungle terrain.
Friendly individual houses had become a thing of the past.
Even the little available Flora was
massacred at last.
With their necessary resources becoming scarce
Adapting to change was their only case.
They started drinking polluted water from drains
Fought with fellow sparrows for possession over pesticide laden grains
Not long ago her friends soared happily until the blue.
But now the polluted air meant only a few flew.
Electric air (radiations) was also making their presence rare.
Humans missed this trick while they were engrossed to their smartphones glare.
The radiations had the sparrows little hearts heavily disrupted
Unable to bear they finally wilted and erupted
Amidst falling friends Pharaoh bore the strain
Turned immune to air, hunger and pain
She was the last one alive looking almost like a zomby
Human captured this last specimen copy
Pampered it in all sorts until it got fluffy
Suddenly starvation was replaced by saturation .
Pharaoh now began feeling like a true king and an inspiration.
Scientific experiments to recreate sparrows will continue.
With newer methods to ponder on in the menu.
There is no use to cry over spilt milk but efforts will continue until our Pharaoh becomes a MUMMY.
Condolences and retrospection will pour all over only when it is all over.
Climax has it when the murderer finally wears the fake mask of a mourner.

Sparrows
I eavesdropped
on sparrows
for hours
there were more than a few
all I heard them say was
'Chev, chev, chev'

In my backyard, before dawn...
Before the sun wakes up the town...
these cute birds start singing the traditional folks...
their Chirping, chattering is our symbolic clocks...
Many cities lost these birds & their habitats...
But our rural life still wishes them happy mornings!!!

Her birthday
And on her this birthday,
I got such a golden sparrow in my little herb.

Wasn't meant for you
No, she wasn't meant for you."
You lived in the silent bright forest,
she was the sparrow arrived as a guest.
The melody sang nice just for days few.
But the untimely storm broke saying,
"No, she wasn't meant for you."
You were the isolated painting drawn in shades,
she was the colourful stroke which never fades.
Uniting them together was a thought quite new.
But the old canvas repented yelling,
"No, she wasn't meant for you."
Sailing the howling ocean right from top,
she was your falling courage with every raindrop.
When the sail tore apart it's prolonged hue,
the immersive sun screamed from dusk,
"No, she wasn't meant for you,
No, she wasn't meant for you."

Bird Life
Hooting are the owls
Woodpeckers making noise
Eagles are silently watching
Flamingos shutting voice
Crows hiding in the nests
Sparrows madly rejoice
Bats bewitched by sonic wave
Doves coming out with courage
While peace is just a violent maze -

Bird Race
I saw you sparrow
Racing along the lake
Practicing for a better rank
Her gaze, you wish to take
Once Granted, what will be at stake

This evening,
the rains fell in torrents,
waters gushed here and there,
and I tread on
wet earth barefoot,
fearing insects
but loving the tickle of grass leaves, and,
muddied the feet,
In the park around,
a little kid played with ball,
tumbled and fell,
a big ant passed by unconcerned,
a sparrow ate grains from the ground,
then sat on the iron hedge,
a few old women
sat chatting on the benches,
a couple was walking
with an infant in a stroller,
and that's how
an evening passed,
uneventful yet beautiful,
mundane but happy.

This is my submission for the wonderful #birdlove challenge hosted by @tejasveenagar, whom I'd like to thank very much for this opportunity, because I'm a longtime admirer of birds.
For the purposes of the challenge, members were asked to cultivate social awareness regarding the importance of saving our fine feathered friends' dwindling habitats. As always, thank you for reading.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
by Carolyn Glackin
Oh cherubs of the skies
Adorned with feathered wings
So gracefully they fly!
So beautifully they sing!
They greet us every morning
With birdsong while in flight
And while adorning every tree
They seek shelter from the night
I'd tell you of the glory
Of the American Bald Eagle
A white tailed bird of prey
Who truly is so regal
Oh perhaps you'd like to hear
Of the Indian Peafowl
The male is such a beauty
That he makes the ladies howl!
And methinks you'll want to know
About the birdies of Australia
I should like to name them all
But there's so many, I might fail ya!
A favorite that I'll mention
Is a lovely passerine
He's called the Fairywren
And he's the bluest bird I've seen!
I've spied a Warbler in the mountains
And a Sparrow in the prairie
But the Parrot in the jungle
Is truly legendary!
They add color to our lives
And music to our ears
So please protect their homes
And they'll remain throughout the years.

One lone sparrow
Across my windowsill
Sings unfathomably
Of beautiful things.
Sits upon a wire,
One of many,
Crisscrossing
Our sky,
And trills to itself
All morning long.
It brings the morning news
And all the grapevine gossip;
Overheard,
In the sundry corners of this city;
That we'll never hear–
Oh 'tis truly sorrowful.
Perhaps that's why;
Like a drunkard on too much wine;
It sits and sings;
In incomplete solitude;
As long,
As loud as it can;
And hoarse is its voice;
Drowned by the city's cacophony;
But still sings to make itself heard.
It's the pigeons
That bring us the love letters;
It's the ravens
That bring us the dark omens;
But this little sparrow–
Humble bird it is;
It sings and leaves
To shout its story
From another wire,
Across some other windowsill.

The Sparrow and The Macaw
A sparrow, small and dour,
Slipped through the bars of the aviary
To gorge on seed and scatter fruit.
'What are you doing here?'
A voice sneered
And in a bluster of wings
A great hooked beak appeared.
The sparrow fled to a safe distance
To watch the macaw strut
And eye her with distrust.
'There's food here,' she called back,
'More than enough
To take my small fill
Without affecting you much'.
'Small or not, it's not for you'
Hissed the parrot,
Spreading wings of princely blue.
'Are there sunflower seeds and banana chips in your wilderness?
No? I thought not.
And so you do not belong in my cage.
You are wild because you cannot beguile
The human folk as I can.
What man would put you in an aviary
To look at and treasure? None.
And so you are destined to remain
In that diseased state
Of perpetual flight.'
The sparrow had heard quite enough.
And so, without waiting to bid him 'adieu',
She flew out and into the endless blue.

Mud
I am alive.
I stare into the muddy dots of my eyes
Swirling shades of brown
They gaze back, vacant.
Can this be the window to my soul?
Murky waters filled with sludge
An unknown swamp
Beauty known only to its rivers
Who will know me?
The snake hidden in his burrow?
Ready to strike
Or the sparrow?
He whispers such sweet melodies
I am alone.
Does my mystery call to you?
Will you walk my forgotten paths?
Danger watches every step
I cry
Whispering among my trees
The snake ate my sparrow
It was stuck in the mud.

Mould a birdbath for Sparrow,
feed them today and tomorrow.
On this blooming spring,
hear the little birds sing.
On their back carrying the sky,
and waking the dawning day.
