Why? I used to ask myself.
Why love betrayed my feelings
Why promises kept being broken
Why the sudden coldness you showed
Why tears were the only constant to me
Why sweet words made me believe
Why hatred was buried in my heart
Why smile was always forced
Then memories flashed back.
All the answers were clear.
A single lie.
The only lie known.
The reason everything was shattered.
The lie resulted in a new one.
A lie after another.
A lie that torn me down.
Wrecked us apart.
Apart that we can no longer connect.
Because what we had seemed fake.
Untrue.
Unreal.
A lie.
If we were real
If the feelings were sincere
If the promises were true
If the happiness wasn't scripted,
No lies would have been committed
No questions would have arisen.
Everything.
