Paper Corpse
How could we ever have
Read between the lines
When our love was a blank sheet
Stripped of all signals and signs?
What we mistook for ink
Were just transparent tears
Leaving behind a salt crusted trail
Of their invisible layers.
When the palace of illusions
Had caved in
We remained standing like two iron pillars
Under the dome of irony.
But didn't both of us
Love to write?
And write we did
But only in shades of white
Inscribed on the shroud
Of a paper corpse.

@fallen_42 please don't make me blush ☺ but thanks a zillion for your sincere feedback. Poetry for me is the process of evolving into a better human being and if i have been able to convey even a tiny fraction of this feeling to any of my readers then that satisfaction transcends poetry itself. Guess all of us need to keep trying to break the mould of confinement irrespective of the meaning of life.
Greatly humbled that I'm with your words, I would just like to say that you too are a poetess with immense potential and your style is vague yet powerful which is difficult for a poet to achieve. Perhaps you put a lot of yourself into your writings which imparts it a unique perspective.
