The Rules of War
There are rules to war,
ironic as it is.
How civil of this world to create parameters around murder and weapons,
as if we are playing a life-size game of Stratego.
But Stratego players don’t bleed to death or explode into tiny pieces of skin or withstand the harshest conditions.
Does this make war humane?
One may not shoot at or target civilians, but everything else is fair game.
And I suppose it is just one big game, where egos fly with bullets.
Death in war is just a number to count, a toll, a meter.
So why make rules to this most dangerous game
when everybody loses in the end?
