The lights were out yesterday night,
An onset of storm knocked,
Amidst the breezy ambiance I heard
The sounds of silence, the sounds of nature.
I saw little plants and a big tree, turned black,
Absolute black like a shadow,
Dancing like shapeless phantoms and singing whispers of their leaves.
The wind too was mischievous,
Sometimes from left,
Sometimes from right,
Sometimes hitting me head on,
Sometimes pishing me from behind.
The crickets got startled in the begining
But, eventually joined the chorus,
As in a quartet.
The stars rejoiced, and silently cheered,
But the moon only watched,
Still and serious,
Like an experienced spectator,
As he needed something more to get delighted.
The tempo increased gradually,
With the wind and the leaves moving faster,
Then suddenly the thunder fell
With climatic drum beats and flash lights,
Shackling and stunning everything around,
Bringing stillness and silence all around.
As the show seemed done,
Fin I exclaimed,
Amazing me with its cold entrance,
Started dancing the rain.
