    I PRAY

    I pray you find happiness
Because it is the beginning of success
    I pray you find God
Because he'll turn your life around
And break all your impossible walls

I pray you find your passion
Because passion builds your dreams into mansions
I pray you find your purpose
Because purpose makes a man to journey in the right direction
I pray you find friends worth having
Because they'll make your life worth living
    I pray you find yourself
    Because the day you do
You'd probably know why you were born

    EVENING

    Walking home briskly
Both hands tucked in my pockets
    Everyone journeyed home
I looked up and saw the setting sun

Mother nature called together her children
Bugs, beetles and all the creeping insects
    Crawled slowly or rather sluggishly
The ones that survived the smashing of the day
Were somehow greatful for the end of another day...

    AMBER

The light shines above her head
Sleep tries to steal her eyes
    And make them close again
She fights with all her might
But she's kind of giving in

She opens her eyes and tend to fight
Little did she know that sleep doesn't agree here

    Her microscopic eyes shines
    Her radiant ears
Her little nose and thin hands
    All blends to form ....AMBER

    ECHOES OF AGONY

With hands placed on both cheeks
    Face staring at agony
She sat comfortably in a dilapidated building
Her face was covered with dust
There were blood spills on the floor

    Her mind was dim
    She wanted to scream
    But instead tears dropped
    She looked around her
    And felt torn asunder

    She could barely speak
Even if she tried to,the words were choked in
She could feel her heart beating hard
As if ,the other organs seem to be asleep
Her mind was filled with terror
The pain In her heart lingered on...

    WAKEUP CALL

The sun yawns behind the clouds
And it's rays pierces through our windows
We drew our blankets over our faces
But the sun would not relent

It extends it's rays to the end of the walls
    We finally got up grudgingly
Because it dawned on us that it's the wakeup call..

    REFLECTION

    Look in the mirror
What you see is your reflection
The reflection of who you really are
The reflection of what you are capable of achieving
    Remember, objects in the mirror
Are closer to you than they appear

    DON'T JUDGE

    If you judge people
You will have no time to love them
    If you view their faults
You'd be unaware if they are hurt

    If you judge people
You'd never see the beauty they have inside
    If you keep blaming them
There won't be enough space to accept them

    Don't judge! Don't judge!
All we need is to love one another
    Instead of becoming unauthorized barristers

    WE WERE SOLDIERS

Should we carry guns close to our bedsides?
Should we hold grenades even at meal times?
Why do we always have to live in fear?
Yet all you brought to us was unprepared battles

I saw a wagon pull up before us
They emerged and fear gripped our guts
Before any could make a run
Men of valour were lying cold on the ground

Watching my brothers on the sand
I could neither cry nor laugh
We were taught to be strong
But a song crept out of my heart
We were soldiers!! We were soldiers!!
    Rest well brothers of valour

    THE TIDES

    Sailor ,Sailor
    Where have you been?

I've been to the West Indies
    To see the magnificent queen
    Who wears golden heels
And rides on a silver wheel

But before we could see her
We had to fight a thousand tides
Which turned out to be a tempest

It takes a skilled sailor to beat the tides
Everyone listened and marvelled at the sailor's stories

But how did you become so skilled ?
    An inquisitive Listener asked
    He smiled and said ..
    Experience is the key

    MOTHER

A single poem can never define you
You are blessed and highly renowned
Everyday,I thank God for a gifted soul like yours
But you are far more than gifted
You are highly favoured and swiftly uplifted

    You endured all my troubles
And carried me everywhere with you
Until I could walk on my own
    You never left me alone

Your definition of love is bigger than that in the dictionary
You are our chef when you make our meals
You become a professional doctor in our times of anxiety
An hair dresser when you make our hair

You are a gifted personality ,I would say
Each day ,I watch you perform activities
I am always amazed because you do them perfectly
And home would not be home when you are away
