Hero's get remembered but Legends never die ~Babe Ruth~
Dear God, I am grateful for Your protection and for Your care. Father, I pray that my reverence for You will never dwindle. You are my Father but You are also the Almighty God, and I will never take that for granted. I will give You all the glory and all the praise, Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
God is always with those who fear Him. This fear doesn’t refer to being afraid, no. It refers to reverence. When we reverence God, and avail ourselves of His will, it means that we are allowing Him to work in our lives. That is how we become protected; that is how He can comfort us. He will always deliver His children from trouble, take courage in knowing that.
Dear God, I pray that I never find counsel in the words of the wicked. May I never be so foolish as to make such a careless decision, Lord. May I always remain set on Your word, and Your word alone, so that the fruit of my lips will be wise and godly to those who hear. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Life and godliness come from the lips of those who embrace and walk in godly wisdom. But those who choose to be wicked and focus on perverse things will always partake in unwholesome talk that will never profit a soul. Their words will only corrupt themselves and anyone who decides to try to embrace what they say.
O Lord, you have given many of us children to care for and train in your ways. This is our sacred duty, and we must not take it lightly. We cannot hand our children over to ungodly teachers and teachings. And we cannot expect them to listen to our talk but ignore our walk. Teach us, O Father, to be the fathers and mothers you would have us to be. Thank you Amen
Raising and training children in the "fear and admonition of the Lord" must be done with gentleness, love, and patience. We must discipline our children when they stray for their own good, but we should never mistreat them and "provoke them to wrath." And the lack of godly training in their youth could itself be a cause of their wrath being kindled against us later in life.
God will always have your best interests at heart; He knows you more than you know yourself – and that is something! When you are faced with times of need, take heart, because God will always be faithful to ensure that all is well with you. Trust in Him always, for He is always with you.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
O Savior, it is easy for us to fear we may not know you when we backslide into sin or when we are trusting our own feeble wills to make ourselves believe we are saved. But when we rely on your Spirit to assure our hearts and let no cloud of sin come between us and you, then we have confidence toward you God. Give us your children, we pray, such confidence in what you have done for them. We thank you for your mercy and love only you can shed upon mankind. Amen
One purpose for which the Apostle John wrote the Letter of First John was to show his believing readers how they might be assured of the eternal life they in fact had. It is possible to be a true child of God and yet suffer from doubts and fears over your true state before God. But in such cases, we should remember that "God is greater than our hearts" and knows all things. His Spirit can witness to our spirit that we are the children of God.
