Hello one and all! I'll be getting back to reading and reposting soon. Please bear with me in that regard as I'm moving a bit slower these days. Respectfully asking that you continue to use #ceesreposts to tag me to your work, rather than my account name. Blessings, Carolyn
ENTER THE DRAGON by Carolyn Glackin As I looked on in wonder I heard the mighty roar Of this most elusive creature This monolithic dinosaur There, he rose before me As though emerging from the clouds A grand and beauteous beast So regal and so proud Adorned with gleaming scales Of a bright sapphire blue And oh, I must admit I truly love that hue! So lofty was his height And his impressive span of wings So worthy, this protector Of nobility and kings Alas! He landed near me! Which gave cause to ask his name Said he "It's too long to pronounce," "But I'll tell you just the same." Then he told me in a whisper And said "Speak it not again," "For my name is seldom safe," "Amongst the wickedness of men." For a while, he rested with me And told me many tales Of the things he'd seen and done And of his trials and travails Then came the time to go And as we bid a fond adieu Said he "If ever you're in need," "Think my name. I'll come to you." Then I hugged him to me tightly And I thanked him for his time As I vowed to tell his story In the words of my next rhyme Then off to other realms He flew so very far So high above the clouds Well beyond the northern star And perhaps you'll not believe this But that's just fine, you see For the proof lies in his name Which I keep here, safe with me.
