प्यार को भूला
ईश्वर के हम सब संतान अनोखे,
पुतले हाड़-माँस के अजब अनोखे,
भिन्न-भिन्न सब अलग अनोखे,
स्वभाव रंग-रूप भी अलग अनोखे।
पर ओझल नहीं हम उसकी नजर से,
दृष्टि सब पर समान रूप से ,
भेदभाव न कभी किसी से,
प्यार समान करते हम सब से।
पर इंसान तो जैसे प्यार ही भूला,
ईर्ष्या, द्वेष,घृणा को पोषा- पाला,
भेदभाव हर इंसान ने पाला,
परमपिता के प्यार को भूला।

Elfchen, a German form of poetry, consists of five lines and 11 words.
First line: 1 word, Second line: 2 words
Third line: 3 words, Fourth line: 4 words
Fifth Line: 1 word
First verse gives a noun. This can be an object, a smell, a mood or a theme.
Second verse describes the word from the first verse somewhat more precisely. What makes this word, how is it, or is it not?
In the third verse, the single word from the first line is examined again. We answer the question of where the word is or how the word is.
Fourth verse is about our own thoughts. What do we think about the word from the first line or what do we mean?
Fifth verse forms a summary, answering the question as to what can be the result of the previous questions.
