I've been told that I have a guardian angel watching over me. One night when I was listening to music of the universe in my sacred silence, I asked for the name of my angel. When I opened my eyes it revealed to me a throne atop a tree from which leaves were plucked by the god himself. At the bottom, with the names who have died. His name whispered in my ear: 'Azrael'
Since that day I've been seeing and feeling things in a much different way. I began to understand my past, and now feel like the present is the sign of the death itself, like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. I met a man named Eddie Boe. He lived a couple of blocks away and walked over for dinner. I had a conversation with him. Despite being quiet, he said something which caught my attention, "I see it in your eyes, you have the determination to succeed, you're just a little lost. You don't know what you want, when you'll find out you'll get it."
When he left, I saw a shadow leave his body and approach me. It was a familiar figure I see time to time. 20 minutes passed as Eddie left, I started to walk to the store. At the front of the street were cops blocking traffic on a quarter mile stretch of the main road. When my mother said there's a dead body lying on the road. I never once thought it would be Eddie. The next day his sister gave us the bad news. My jaw hit the floor.
Here, was this man that I barely knew, that someone I wanted to be friends with. What did this mean for me? As in, What did I see? where did I fit in the grand scheme? I knew his name, saw him fulfilling his duty; Azrael. A cycle of life and death. This is all new to me, I see little intricate patterns no one will notice it's wave upon me. The sound, shape, colour and everything between two dimensions.
Each path leading me to my answers there's a price to pay. To know is a pain, a path to reveal. Or one walked by many and nothing to yield. This is what I know, when you don't know, which way to go any road will take you home. The roads that leads to all, leads to one.
