    Please don't Judge me

Please don’t judge me too soon,
You don’t know what life wants me to learn
You’ve seen a little of me, my words,
But did you see me go through my churn?

Please don’t judge me too soon
If you really must judge me at all
You’re seeing me today as I seem to rise
But were you around when I suffered the fall?

Please don’t judge me too soon
For I’m still a living art that’s being done
My battles have not yet all been fought
And they have not all been won.

Please don’t judge me too soon
For in judging me you’ll have sentenced yourself
To a tiny cell, a prison in your mind
While I languish on an undusted shelf.

Please don’t judge me ever, too
    For i wasn’t made to be judged by you;
I’m here like you are here
And we both have a lot to do.
