Like the rugged cloth ripped across the edges..
Dainty, falling apart thread by thread,
Snugged amidst the thorny hedges...
Was a soul burning in red!
Scorched in the heat of comparison!
Ridiculed by the sterotype!
Judgemental eyes holding life in garrison
Questioning her sentimental stripe!
Worthless, what they called her!
Unworthy of love!
She was broken and hurt,
But always prayed to the Lord, above!
She asked for resilience and strength!
Wearing her scars like laurels...
Stood tall, unflinching at torment!
Always staying true to her morals!
