I fell in love with water in the womb

Brother to the stillborn fog
go thirsting after rain

Clouds of days precipitate to show me where the streams would rather be
Always somewhere else it seems to me

Now I'm not the one I thought I was
when torrents were the only course I knew
back in the early days of gravity's demands

And the currents didn't care about
the depth of my convictions
but chose instead to take the sides of canyons

Carving through the strata of
resolve and resignation
Insisting on the sea
