The fault was never in us
But in the eyes that surrounded us.
The cries were not of our own,
But from the reality they painted for us
I wanted simplicity and growth
But their hastiness destroyed us both.
Innocently adhering to some said words
Time too inadvertently played its part,
Made distance a barrier between us.
Not having the power to go back in time
I could 'nt have what once was mine.
But it still stands true that
The fault was never in us.
