    Once upon a suicide note

Once on a piece of white plain paper
He wrote a poem and named it "fame"
'Cause that's what he aimed to achieve
And that was what it was all about
His teacher was impressed and gave him an A
    And his parents commended him

Once on a page ripped from his notebook
He wrote a poem and named it "love"
'Cause that's what he felt for her
And that was what it was all about
His friends told him love was for the weak
And she threw it back at his face

Once on a piece of sticky note
He wrote a poem and named it "lone"
'Cause no one seemed to care
And that was what it was all about
He tuck it under his bed
    And never showed anyone else

Once on a piece of brown wrapping paper
He wrote a poem and named it "space"
'Cause that's what he wanted from everyone
And that was what it was all about
He read it to everyone at his birthday
And made mean faces at them all

And so on a piece of foil paper he tried another poem
He named it "Mercy" and wrote in red
His bleeding wrists serving the ink
And that would be his last poem
As he saves himself from the struggle
He let the foil paper float along with him
In the bathtub where everyone could see
