The house was silent
The only sound you heard was the raspy breath of a dying man.
There was no one there to be with him
He was all alone.
When he had money, he had friends galore
But now that he is poor, there was no one who cared.
He laid there all alone
Tears falling from his weathered eyes.
He wished he had someone beside him
It was going to be an unfulfilled wish.
He knew he had to leave
It was his time to go.
"Heavenly Father, forgive me for all my sins
I don't deserve your mercy," he rasped as he left the Earth.
