    Where Is That Poet?

    Remember when you had words,
    Not just plain rhetoric?
    When you put meaning,
    Into messages, so poetic,
    What happened to you?
    Faith abandoned thoughts,
    Are your bread and butter,
    Chewing over sour retorts,
    Remember when you held,
    Power in your prose,
    Making others think again,
    About the values they supposed,
    Where is that poet?
The one who had such fire,
Now, you sit, cold and alone,
    With all your hope expired.
