Time is everything. If I met you a few years later, you wouldn’t have thought of me the way you did before. If I met you a few years ago, I probably would have been too dumb to have any feelings. . If I met you when you were in college, you would have been in a very different spot. You probably are not even the same person you once were in college. If you met me when I was trying for college, you would have known why it took me years to have love in my life. . You see, I thank the time I had before you. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be half the man I’m today. And I know, how much of your past shaped you in all the right curves. Making you just a bit past perfect. Emotionally and mentally. . You and I, both needed for that time to happen. Arguments can be made that it would have been okay if time wasn’t so strict, but nonetheless. We both needed that time to happen. . And thus, we both need this time, to happen too. To run its course. It will change you in ways I don’t want to estimate. It will change me in ways I’m not willing to be changed. But it’s what is needed. It’s what is fate. . But somewhere, deep down you’re the person who played basketball with her heart and I’m the person who never learned to express. Parts of us, never change. Just some parts. These little parts are not obedient to time and its effects. . And I hope when we meet again, you and I, don’t change for each other in those little parts.
