To watch someone you care about,
as they slip away,
is a pain that you could do without,
as they begin to go their way.

when its time for them to go,
hold on to them and say,
the last words they would want to hear,
even though you want them to stay

although its going to tear you apart,
just know your in their heart,
and when its time to say your goodbyes,
let them go as your heart cries.

hold on to the thoughts
of them as they drift away,
