Waiting your return
Why is the town sad and silent?
Pale faced men rush to the power plant
To dig out men shrouded by calamity.
The courtyard throws a sorrow look
Like a fish imprisoned by a deadly hook;
The silence too loud a sound to hear
Silences anxious debates into mere murmur.
Won't you return home to fill
The empty benches and the aching house
To answer me when I call your name.
Is this how you say goodbye--
You to walk the Pearly Street
With no proper announcement while
A family awaits your safe return.
