I don't remember when I fell in love with plants.
Maybe it was when I said hello to trees and talked to them when I was younger
Maybe it was when I was forced to pick greens all summer
Maybe it was when I saw how beautiful were the weeds
But now I plant many different things
    I'm starting off small
    And learning as I go
    Digging in red dirt
While singing off tune rock and roll
    With three tomato plants
    Stored away in my room
    A kiss on each leaf
    And pray my lavender blooms
    That garden hidden out back
    I hope all grows
Seeing my first sun flower last summer that I actually did grow
Crying in the garden even as it was bare
    Plants have become my center
And that suites mother nature just fair
