A Government Truth
For people with seats up high,
money and power they boast,
But of souls lingering too long in poverty,
Doth suffering and pain etched as bequest,
Victimized by many and a hoax.
For kings and princes glutton as their riches grow,
Yet people bear their sorrows for too long,
Stomach bare of what should be,
Watched by death and soothed by its song.
For the man who sits on high climbs higher,
Yet those buried underground digs deeper.
Such is a truth of our governments.
