Healing doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. Just like the wound on your bruised elbow, the cotton ball smeared with Dettol will make you cringe, and as it dries, the wound will hit again and again on that door, the window pane and handlebar. Slowly, the brown skin will detach, exposing your soft rosy flesh getting covered with a new peel of skin. The scar will still be there, but it will not be obvious. As days pass, you'll forget this wound too and drown it in the faded memories of the numerous remnant ones that your childhood gifted on your knees.
